National Popular Vote, an Unconstitutional bill will be heard on Tuesday March 14th, 2017

Oregonians!
It is time for those who love the constitution to stand up firmly for it.

5 National Popular Vote bills that have been introduced to the Legislature. The first one, HB2927 will be heard on Tuesday at 3 PM in hearing room 50 (downstairs in the basement)

Please write a letter of testimony in opposition to the bill: you can send one email to hrules.exhibits@oregonlegislature.gov and address it to Chair Jennifer Williamson and Committee Members. Tell them you oppose this bill.

People have already sent in testimony and you can see it here: https://olis.leg.state.or.us/liz/2017R1/Committees/HRULES/2017-03-14-15-00/HB2927/Details

If the NVP compact were to become law, it would result in lawsuits at the time of our next Presidential Election. This would put our nation in a constitutional crisis.

The opponents of the Electorial College who are trying to pass this bill, have been hosting postcard parties to send notes to legislators asking them to support the National Popular Vote. The bus project is hosting a bus to the capital on Tuesday to visit their legislators and demand they support the bill. At 3 PM the testimony will be heard on the bill. It is time for those who love the constitution to stand up firmly for it.

The Capital switchboard is 1- 800 332 2313 to ask for your legislator to OPPOSE this bill. Please call, make an appointment to see your legislator or just talk to them if you can not see them in person.
