Today as we observe Veterans Day I am reminded that this year will be the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. We were not at war, but we were attacked and thus FDR declared that we would prevail. At a Veterans Day assembly yesterday a 93 year old Pearl Harbor survivor shared that day and the days that followed. So many gave their all that day and so many continue to do so to protect and defend our freedoms and the freedoms of those who can not defend themselves.
The words of “God Bless America” ring true today because of the brave men and women who are patriots and who fight for our country.
“While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that’s free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer.
God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.”
May God bless you and protect you!
Respectfully and sincerely,
Representative for HD58
